Laakhon Mein Ek is a web series by Biswa Kalyan Rath - who is greatly known for his stand up comedy in India. I just watched six episodes of this show - I'm not exactly sure how many there are, and I knew I just had to review this.

It's a show unlike anything else I have ever watched. If you're a student in India - you are going to understand so many aspects of this series. It's a dark tale woven by Biswa about a boy called Akash who is a completely average student, sometimes below average - whose father has high aspirations of him getting into IIT. This isn't anything new in India - you can easily find two in five people prepping for the JEE here.

So, Akash is sent to a coaching centre but since he has no inclination towards Science and no aptitude for the subject - there starts his downward spiral towards doom. Akash wants to be an actor but the coaching centre slowly sucks the life out of him. Each episode ends up with you feeling even more sorry for the guy. The whole show revolves around him cheating, cramming from his books - trying to study, drugs, bullying and getting beaten up.

It's stressful but it perfectly captures how Akash is feeling. The show - I feel - is honestly great. You get inside the show and you start feeling the same way Akash is feeling. The same hopelessness, the same terror and the same nervousness.

I just found out the guy who plays Akash is someone called Ritwik Sahore. I just have to mention that he has done an impeccable job of playing his character. And that guy is only seventeen. You can genuinely see the despair in Akash's eyes - mastered flawlessly by Ritwik.

Biswa too plays a role in the show - of a Physics teacher and his acting is obviously good too. Apart from the dark aspects of it, the show is also quite funny and you are always on Akash's side - no matter how wrong things are going in his life.

I don't know how this series ends but it did leave me with a lot of food for thought and a realization that the pressure truly is unreal. I feel like everyone has to give this show a watch, it'll definitely make you learn something you didn't know before about life!
